About Japanese Green Tea

"How to make a perfect cup of Japanese Green Tea

1. How to change tap water to tasty one.

① It is essential to remove the chlorine contained in tap water. When you go to bed, put tap water into a kettle and let it sit. Here is a little teqnicue. Let the lid slightly opened to remove the chlorine easily.

② Next morning put the kettle on and the water will be boiling whithin 10 minutes.

③ However the lid starts dancing, don't turn off the fire. Take the lid off the kettle and let it continue to boil for 5 minutes because of removing the chlorine enough.

④ Pour the water into a thermos pot. The kettle is very hot, so be careful to hand it. It is finished to make water which fit for brewing tea.

2. Haw to make 2 cups of Sencha or Gyokuro.

① At first put water to a cup to let it cool to the desired temperature. A cup for Gyokuro is smaller than a cup for Sencha.
The desired temperature for Sencha is 70-80 degree and for Gyokuro is 50-60 degree.

② Put a heaping spoonful using a tablespoon (about 5g) into a tea pot.
Putting more relatively is better than putting few relatively.

③ Pour the water into a teapot from a cup and wait. It needs 40-60 sec for Sencha, and it needs 120-150 sec for Gyokuro. Someone tells to turn the teapot to blend the tea leaves and the water enough.
But we recommend to wait quietly without turning.

④ Pour a little in each cup repeatedly to keep same tastes for all cups.
Empty the teapot until there is not a single drop left. The last drop has a richer taste and flavor and you can make a good second brew.

3. Haw to make 2 cups of Hojicha

① It is easier to make Hojicha than others. Prepare the larger cups and put a heaping spoonful using a tablespoon into a tea pot.

② Pour hot water at a heat and be careful that you don't touch hot water.

③ Pour a little in each cup repeatedly to keep same tastes for all cups.
Empty the teapot until there is not a single drop left.

4. Haw to make a cup of Maccha

①Prepare a Chawan(a bowl for drinking tea) , a Chasen(a bamboo tea whisk) and a Chashaku(bamboo tea spoon for making Japanese tea).

② Put two teaspoonfuls of Maccha using Chashaku into the Chawan. Maccha is powdered green tea, so Maccha is the cup.Pour hot water at a heat and be careful that you don't touch hot water.

③ Pour a little in each cup repeatedly to keep same tastes for all cups.
Empty the teapot until there is not a single drop left.
